Our Rental Car History
The doors of Mike Albert’s used car dealership opened in 1928 on Gilbert Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio. The automobile industry was still in its infancy and the local tri-state market provided Mike Albert Autos ample opportunity for success. By 1955 Mike Albert Autos led the city in used car sales. Almost 30 years later, the growing Cincinnati dealership entered the fleet leasing business.
As the leasing business grew, so did the demand for short-term leases. Mike Albert Short Term Leasing was born and was the early beginnings of Mike Albert Rental. While we still specialize in month to month leasing, over the years we have branched out into daily and weekly vacation rentals, and service and body shop replacements.
Our strong history serves as a foundation upon which the Mike Albert future is being built. Today the Mike Albert brand continues to operate a pre-owned car dealership and service shop, Mike Albert Sales & Service; a robust fleet management business, Mike Albert Fleet Solutions; and premier vehicle rental locations, Mike Albert Rental.
The three businesses now employ over 200 people, and continue to uphold the honest culture and ethics of a family-owned business. Before retiring, Mr. Albert entrusted the beloved business to his nephew, Bob Betagole. Bob proudly carried on the family tradition: growing the business and eventually hiring his own children to run the companies with him. Over the last 60 years, the Betagole family has owned, operated, and grown these businesses to be well-respected industry leaders.
